On January 5, after 24 hours of continuous effort, the Churchill-Roosevelt Bridge project, jointly undertaken by Hangxiao Steel Structure Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hangxiao Steel Structure") and China Railway Construction (Caribbean) Co., Ltd., successfully completed its first lifting. The client and supervisory team expressed satisfaction with Hangxiao Steel Structure’s manufacturing capabilities and quality control, praising the company’s ability to deliver international engineering projects.

Located in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago, South America, adjacent to the Piarco International Airport, the bridge spans the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, eliminating the transportation barrier between the northern region and the international airport. This project holds significant importance for local livelihoods and economic development.
The bridge is designed as an arch-shaped skewed steel plate girder bridge, with its main structure consisting of six H-shaped steel girders with a cross-section of H1600*400*16*60. These girders are interconnected via supports and are made of ASTM GR50W corrosion-resistant steel, processed and inspected in full compliance with the standards of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO AWS D1.5M D1.5-2015).


The main steel girders have a length of 72.4 meters and are divided into three fully bolted segments. To ensure bolting precision and overall dimensional accuracy, processes such as template drilling, pre-cambered cutting of components, full-length ground sampling, and overall assembly were employed, along with multiple process control measures. These efforts resulted in an on-site installation perforation rate of 100% and dimensional deviations within ±3 mm, achieving the goal of creating a "high-quality exemplary project."
