The project is the world's first airport specially designed for the Airbus A380-800 double deck "Big Mac", the world's largest passenger aircraft. It has the world's longest airport runway (2.64 miles), expanded hangar and entrance area. The new airport has a beautiful appearance and advanced system equipment, covering an area of 2200 hectares. Half of the land is reclaimed from the Arabian Gulf. Doha new airport covers an area of 1700 hectares and the phase I project costs US $2.5 billion. Hangxiao has undertaken the construction of sections CP10 and cp16. CP10 is the runway part of the airport and is a truss steel structure.
